Artists Thriving Into Retirement: Visioning and Tools to Get You On Track presented by Jennifer Cuevas and Angie Sharma

WED APR 24 // 12noon – 1:30pm // LA Law Library (301 W 1st St, L.A. 90012)

Through this workshop, participants will learn to use strategic planning to create their vision for retirement, learn how tech tools can help change spending behavior, encourage lowering debt and create streams of revenue that add up to savings for retirement investment and gain knowledge of basic institutional financial retirement account options for longer-term financial planning as independent contractors.

• 30 mins:  Visioning Presentation and Exercise with Jennifer Cuevas
• 45 mins: Angie Sharma and Financial Planning Group Info Session Presentation, with an emphasis on options for indie artists, contractors and business owners; non ‘401-Kers’
• 15 mins: Q&A

Jennifer Cuevas is an entrepreneur and seasoned Communications Consultant, Producer and CEO of boutique communications agency, Jennifer Cuevas Consulting, LLC. She has led bilingual public relations and integrated marketing campaigns for an eclectic list of clients in the in arts and entertainment, non-profit and corporate industries for nearly two decades, as well as curated and managed dozens of tastemaking events. 

In addition to communications work, Cuevas enjoys the creative process of working with clients to produce branded still and video content; which she does with accomplished Photographer/Director, Pablo Aguilar, all while coaching her clients toward success. At the core of her work is a passion for producing, building and managing relationships, and connecting people and unique places, while documenting and sharing the experiences.

Native Angelino and Mount Saint Mary alum, Angie Sharma, is a seasoned accountant and financial planning expert with nearly 20 years of experience. Angie has worked with Arthur Andersen, a former “Big 5 Firm,” as well as with McGladrey and Pullen, the 5th largest accounting firm in the country.  She recently joined forces with her father to co-run his accounting firm,  Aaron P. Sharma & Assoc., Inc., which has been operating for more than 40 years in Covina, CA.

Angie’s expertise ranges from helping middle-class families to high net-worth individuals, gaining her the reputation as the “go to” resource for business owners and individuals alike. Her wealth of knowledge is not only limited to mitigating taxable exposure today but also keeping in mind tax planning strategies to help her clients in the long run. As part of Grand Park’s Our LA Voices, Grand Park will offer free workshops on creative practice, as well as the business side of making art in L.A. Topics range from street dance activism and acting, to intellectual property and copyright protection, marketing, entrepreneurship skills and fundraising.

These workshops are free and open to all. Please pre-register for the workshop via the link below.
