Saturday, April 27, 2019 and Sunday, April 28, 2019; 11 am – 5 pm
Grand Park’s week-long spring arts experience, Grand Park’s Our L.A. Voices – a Pop-up Arts+Culture Fest is a regional arts gathering that focuses exclusively on the diverse and powerful artistic talent in Los Angeles County. This free arts fest will feature short film, dance, music, spoken word and theatre performances, as well as visual art by L.A. artists.
During both days of the festival, visit Jardin del Arte, the public marketplace at Our LA Voices. The marketplace will feature a range of art works for sale including paintings, photographs, collages, postcards, jewelry, and plants from LA artists such as Patrick Martinez, Ramiro Gomez, Chinwe Okona, and Noe Olivas. Jardin del Arte is curated in partnership with Residency Gallery, Molcajete Dominguero and more to be announced.
The festival’s 2019 theme, Origin Stories, explores and showcases distinctly Los Angeles narratives and questions about where we are, how we got here and where we are going.

As part of Grand Park’s Our LA Voices, Grand Park will offer free workshops on creative practice, as well as the business side of making art in L.A. Topics range from street dance activism and acting, to intellectual property and copyright protection, marketing, entrepreneurship skills and fundraising. These workshops are free and open to all. Please pre-register – RSVP links are below. Parking validation will be provided for workshop attendees for LOT 10 only. Parking Lot 10 is located on N. Broadway between First Street + Temple Street. The Artist’s Compass with Rachel Moore: The Complete Guide to Building a Life and a Living in the Performing Arts

Rachel Moore, president and CEO of The Music Center, will lead an arts business workshop based on her book, The Artist’s Compass: The Complete Guide to Building a Life and a Living in the Performing Arts. Moore – a former dancer in American Ballet Theater’s corps de ballet who rose to become CEO of that organization and who now heads the nation’s third-largest performing arts center – will guide aspiring performers to understand and embrace the business and marketing skills they need to launch their careers and achieve personal and professional success. This session is particularly helpful for aspiring artists, from teens to adults.

Artists Thriving Into Retirement: Visioning and Tools to Get You on Track presented by Jennifer Cuevas and Angie Sharma

Feminist Acting Workshop with Gina Young

Feminist Acting Class is a revolutionary approach to actor training that shakes the entire foundation on which it is built. Created by playwright and director Gina Young as a series of experiments to determine if the form and content of an acting class can both be made feminist, FAC incorporates scene study, feminist theory, consciousness raising and community building. Intended for actors who audition and perform regularly, this abridged version of the longer workshop aims to flip the script and expand possibilities for women, trans and nonbinary people in theatre and beyond.

This 3-day workshop focuses on embodied practices such as meditation, theater games, and street dance as community building tools, manifestation practices, and healing modalities.
